Frederique Constant has unveiled a new limited edition of the Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph. Inspired by the aesthetics of classic automobiles, these novelties combine the classic and sporty really well.
Austin Healey automobiles and Frederique Constant have been partners for 14 years. Since 2004, Frederique Constant has sponsored vintage car rallies worldwide and is also a supporter of the European Healey Club.
Each of the three new model versions picks up the DNA from the iconic design of the 1960s British automobiles, paying tribute to their classic design. The watch uses a 42mm diameter stainless steel or rose gold plated case fitted with a convex sapphire crystal over the dial. The piston-shaped chronograph pushers have a grooved surface for better grip.
There are three version of this watch – the rose gold version features a navy blue dial with white counters while the steel versions are available in two color schemes. A green dial with white counters and red accents and a grained silver with grey counters and purple accents. The applied indexes, Arabic numerals and hands on the dial are coated with SuperLuminova for optimum legibility. A date window is placed at 3 o’clock and the Healey logo is seen at 6.
It is powered by the FC-397 automatic chronograph movement visible through caseback. A modular chronograph movement reportedly based on an ETA movement, the 25 jewels caliber beats at 28’800 per hour (4 Hz) and delivers 46 hours of power reserve. The bi-compax chronograph layout has a 30-minute counter at 3 o’ clock and a running seconds hand at 9.
The leather straps are perforated in the style of driving gloves, which adds a sportive and elegant look to the wrist. Limited to just 2,888 pieces, the Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph comes with a gift box including a Healey NOJ393 miniature automobile. While the rose gold plated version is priced at $3,095 (AED11,366), the steel references are at $2,795 (AED10,264).
