Dubai Watch Week and Christie’s will host the first international chapter of the Horology Forum in London next month. The two-day event will be held on September 11 and 12 and will bring together some of the leading lights of the watch industry.
The Horological Forum was a cornerstone of Dubai Watch Week, an annual event hosted in Dubai for the past three years. The forum features insightful discussions between leading watch curators, pioneers, authors, collectors, brand representatives and industry professionals.
The fourth Horological Forum and the first international chapter will host over 20 speakers including industry icons like Bovet 1882’s Pascal Raffy; British watchmaker Roger W. Smith; Lucien Vouillamoz, the co-founder of HYT; and Fiona Krüger, founder and designer of Fiona Kruger Timepieces, amongst others.
This year’s Horology Forum also welcomes back Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, Chief Commercial Officer at Seddiqi Holding. Mohammed Seddiqi, a member of the Dubai Watch Week executive committee, is an influential collector and harbinger of knowledge in the region.
“London is an important horological market that has a rich heritage in the industry. This edition of the Horology Forum is expected to attract a number of prominent figures from the community and we look forward to exploring British timekeeping heritage tied in with Christie’s extensive expertise in the world of horology,” said Melika Yazdjerdi, Director of Dubai Watch Week and Senior Marketing & Communication Director, Seddiqi Holding – the main organizers of the event.
“We are honored to partner with Dubai Watch Week for the first international edition of the Horology Forum and continue to be a proud supporter of this initiative. We look forward to hosting leading voices in the horology industry and providing them with the perfect platform to foster discussions around the world of horology,” said John Reardon, Senior Vice President of International Head of Watches at Christie’s.
