Glashütte brand Nomos has launched four new models in the Nomos At Work series. These ultra-slim new watches – in the Metro, Tetra, Tangente and Orion lines - come in a larger size and are equipped with the in-house automatic caliber DUW 3001.
The flagship model in the new series is Metro with a new ‘silvercut’ dial. The secret to its particular shade of cool grey is a nine-step process. The gold- and rhodium-plated dial blank is lacquered and wet-blasted numerous times, before the thousandth of a millimeter is removed again and the dial is trimmed flat. Metro’s dial also features has red dots for hour markers to add a pop of color to the dial. Rhodium-plated hour and minute hands indicate time along with a light red seconds hand in the subsidiary dial.
This watch uses a 38.5 mm stainless steel bipartite case. It is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal glass and sapphire crystal glass back. Despite the fact that this is an automatic watch, the profile of the watch is still very slim at just 8.35 mm. The watch is paired with a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a winged clasp.
Nomos has equipped the watch its in-house manufacture movement, the self-winding DUW 3001. This movement features the brand’s own swing system (escapement system) with a tempered blue balance spring. The 12 ¾ lines (28.8 mm) movement has the characteristic Glashütte three-quarter plate. Featuring the in-house swing system, this movement is adjusted in six positions. The movement features fine watchmaking flourishes like tempered blue screws; rhodium-plated movement surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and perlage.
Alongside the ‘silvercut’ versions, all models in the new series are also available with the classic white silver-plated and midnight blue dials. All the models of the Nomos At Work series will be available with selected retailers from mid-October.
