In a first of its kind for the region, WatchTime Middle East hosted a Collectors’ Evening with Grand Seiko and their retail partner Al Futtaim Watches & Jewellery at the Above 21 bar at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah on Wednesday, September 25.

The event brought together the watch collecting community in the city who got a hands-on experience of some rare watches from the cult Japanese watchmaker. Grand Seiko was born out of Seiko’s pursuit of creating “the ideal watch” – a beautifully handcrafted timepiece that would be durable, legible and with higher chronometric standards than Swiss watches. In 2017, Grand Seiko was spun off as independent watch company, freed from its existence as a model line with the Seiko family. You can read more about the Grand Seiko legacy here. Here are some of the images from the event.
