Roger Dubuis has launched two new limited edition timepieces to its flagship Excalibur collection. The new additions, the Excalibur Double Tourbillon and Excalibur Monobalancier, feature cases made entirely from black ceramic.
The watchmaker says the black ceramic it has used in these watches are four times harder than stainless steel, and only diamond can mark it. The hyper resistant material is apparently made by a special process by the brand’s engineers.
Both models sport Roger Dubuis’ in-house movements that offer 72-hour power reserve with their intricately crafted moving parts showcased through the open-worked dials. Both watches are fitted with embossed black leather straps.
The Excalibur Double Tourbillion gets a 45 mm case husing two tourbillions, a gray flange, an engraved minute track and rhodium-plated hour markers. The Excalibur Monobalancier comes in a slightly smaller 42 mm case, same as the pink gold model that debuted at Watches & Wonders 2022.
The Excalibur Double Tourbillon Black Ceramic is limited to only 28 pieces with the price upon request, while the Excalibur Monobalancier Black Ceramic costs $67,500.
