My passion for watch collecting started very late in my life. I had only one watch, (my Rolex 16613), when I moved to Dubai in 2005; I now have many watches, (don’t ask me how many as I have lost count!), from many different manufacturers. I have no particular brand preference I just buy what I like when I can afford it!

Impeccable taste in .... framed magazine covers

That said, if I have to take on WatchTime Middle East’s Two Watch Agenda and pare down my collection to just two, here are the two timepieces that I would keep and the reasons why!

Rolex 16613 Submariner

The two-tone Rolex Submariner Ref. 16613

This watch needs no introduction and it is very close to my heart as this watch was the first Rolex I purchased in 1998 whilst living in the UK. It’s very hard to believe now this watch was approximately AED15,000 new back then! It’s a beautiful timepiece, classic gold and steel with a lovely blue dial. This is definitely a keeper for me.

Zenith El Primero RED Limited Edition

The Zenith El Primero Red Edition

The Zenith RED El Primero is absolutely stunning and of all the watches in my collection this watch receives the most attention when I wear it or post pictures of it on Instagram. I’m so glad this particular piece was produced in a limited 500 piece quantity and I feel very privileged to own it.

As with all the Zenith watches I own, I always admire Zenith movements, especially the El Primero 400 that powers this timepiece.
