While most of recent releases from Nomos Glashütte have focused on new movements and their stylish new bracelets, the German brand known for its minimalist design brings back one of its most stylish models this year in a brand new size and cased in precious metal. Meet the new Metro rose gold 33.

The proportions of the watch work well in a 33 mm case

Designed by Mark Braun, the first Metro model was unveiled in 2014 and it was a runaway hit for the brand winning many design awards since. Its rounded case, slender wire lugs, tapered hands, and the delicate diamond knurling on its crown combine to create an aesthetic reminiscent of precision tools. There are hand-wound and automatic versions, larger and smaller, with and without complications. But nearly all of them feature a stainless steel case.

The rose gold twins in 39 and 33 mm case sizes

This new release is only the second Metro from with an 18 kt rose gold case: In 2017, Metro rose gold neomatik 39 was introduced as part of the At Work series of elegant watches for the office. It featured a rose gold case, coordinating beautifully with the muted gray accents on the dial and the brown leather strap crafted from Horween hell Cordovan leather. This watch was powered by the self-winding Nomos Caliber DUW 300

At just 33 millimeters in diameter, this watch is also the smallest Metro model to date. Featuring the characteristic rose gold hands that form a beautiful contrast with the gray hour markers and subtle violet minute markers.

The hand-cranked Alpha Caliber has 38 hours of juice

Given the diminutive case size, the in-house Alpha Caliber was the perfect choice. Alpha Caliber is 10 ½ lignes (23.3 mm) wide, so it sits well in the 33 mm wide case. The hand-wound movement has the traditional Glashütte three-quarter plate construction and a power reserve of 38 hours. The watch is paired with a beige velour leather strap and rose gold winged clasp add the finishing touch. The watch’s retail price is $7,200 (AED26,440)
